In past cultures, people used symbolic expression more often than written language As in other hand crafts, the art of rugs and carpets have witnessed to history and have been up to date as a document Turkish cultural history. The purpose of this study in order to contribute to ‘’ To protect our crafts, to keep up with the past is tokeep light on the future’’. examines the opinions of secondary school students about language of the carpet and rug motives in terms of Turkish cultural history. We have to carry on the artistic values that brought our daily history from the culture of Bozkır with such works. It is thought that secondary school students will contribute to the field study of their cultural views. In interviews were used in the research from qualitative research methods. The study group created easily accessible samples from purposeful sampling methods .97 students, (65 seventh and 32 eighth graders) participated in the study group. The data collection tool used 4 open ended questions for "carpet and rug", "Pazırık Carpet" and their motifs. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the research, it is seen that the students generally have similar characteristics, reflecting the Turkish culture about carpets and kilims, such as hand crafts, home furnishings and human experience products. It seems that there is not much information about the Pazırık carpet. It has been understood that carpet and rug motifs are generally interpreted correctly.
