INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ATTITUDE AGAINST EXTRACURRICULAR SPORT ACTIVITIES AND LEVELS OF ATTACHMENT TO SCHOOL OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL

The present study aimed to investigation of the relationship between attitude levels for extracurricular sportive activities and school attachment levels of high school educationers. Relational screening model is used in the study. The relationship measured with structural equation modeling (SEM). Study includes 496 participants, which 223 (%45) female and 273 (%55) male, from various high schools belonging Bitlis National Education Management. Data collected through the School Attachment Scale and Extracurricular Activities Participation Questionnaire. Structural equation modeling results showed that base extent of attitudes for extracurricular sportive activites effects alteration of attachment to school and teachers extents at a level of % (R2 =.11). Base extents of extracurricular sportive activities attitudes showed alterations on attachment to a friend extent at the level of % 15 (R 2 =.15). According to this study increasing attitudes of extracurricular sportive activities improves attachment levels to the school. It is suggested to arrange various studies in order to inform students, teachers and parents about benefits of extracurricular sport activities. Future studies intended for only extracurricular sport activities participants could be more effective on the prediction of investigating the levels of attachment to school.
