TURKISH LANGUAGE AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS' PARTICIPATION AND PERSPECTIVES IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH: A CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

In this study, the research activities and the participation of the elementary school and Turkish language teachers to important researches in terms of their professional development and their perspectives on these issues were examined. First, in order to determine the participation of teachers in academic studies over the last decade 150 academic studies in the field of Turkish language and elementary school teaching in each, made in Turkey, were examined according to the participation of the teachers. Later, interviews were done with 14 teachers using an in-depth semi-structured interview form. After the transcription of the interviews, the data were analyzed and reported by critical discourse analysis. In the study, it was observed that teachers' participation in the research decreased relatively; It has been concluded that there is inequality in access to research and postgraduate education, and the returns to participation are low. Suggestions have been made to universities, ministries, and researchers to identify and remove barriers to conducting research with teachers.
