ANALYSIS OF JOB SATISFACTION OF HOME TEACHERS IN TERMS OF LIFE SATISFACTION, WORK ENGAGEMENT AND SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES

The purpose of this research was examined in terms of teacher job satisfaction, life satisfaction, work engagement and socio-demographic variables. The research group of this study, which uses descriptive method relational screening model, consists of a total of 151 teachers who work in Selçuklu and Meram districts of Konya and accept to voluntarily participate in the research. Data were collected by applying the Personal Information Form developed by the researchers in order to collect Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ), Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS) Utrecht Work engagement Scale (UWES) and some socio-demographic information In the analysis of the data, t test for independent groups, one way ANOVA for multiple comparisons, and Scheffe test to determine the source of variation were used for binary comparisons. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to determine the relationship between job satisfaction scores and life satisfaction and work engagement scores of teachers who provided home education services, multiple regression analysis was used to determine the contribution of life satisfaction and work engagement scores to job satisfaction scores. As a result of these analyzes, significant positive correlations were found between the job satisfaction scores of the teachers who provided home education services and life satisfaction and work engagement scores, life satisfaction and work engagement scores which explain 36% of the variance related to job satisfaction scores were found to be significant predictors of job satisfaction scores. On the other hand, when there is a significant difference between the job satisfaction scores of the teachers who provide home education services gender, and whether home education suitable for them; no significant difference could be obtained in terms of variables such as branch, age, duration of duty, and home service life. Results were discussed in view of the literature.
