A PROJECT STUDY AND SITUATION ASSESSMENT CARRIED OUT BY VISUAL ARTS TEACHER CANDIDATES BASED ON 'WASTE MATERIALS AND SUSTAINABILITY' WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICE PRACTICES COURSE

With this research, a project study was carried out with the students of the art teaching department who were taking the community service practices course, based on sustainability from waste materials. This project, which will be designed to serve the society, is planned to be created with both functional and aesthetic concerns. While working on this project, our primary goal was to benefit our own students and other students. For this reason, the empty spaces in the building of our Faculty of Art Education Department were used as the application area of our project. The research was conducted with Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Education Art Education USA 4th grade students using a 14-week course period in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The research was limited to only 16 students who took the community service practices course during this period. The research was conducted under the personal supervision of the researcher who teaches the community service practices course. The data obtained as a result of the 5-question interview forms distributed to the students at the end of the project were evaluated with the descriptive analysis technique, which is among the qualitative research techniques. In the research, results were also reached by using the situation evaluation technique.
