Adolescence which is an important process in which the individual steps from childhood to adulthood is a period in which physical, spiritual and social development for the future is shaped. In this transition period, the individual tries to define the self with abstract thought and take a place in the socio-cultural structure. Personality and identity development are shaped especially during adolescence. It is important for the continuation of a healthy social structure to support the sociological, psychological, moral and religious development of children in this age range by bringing them together with qualified literary products appropriate to their level. In the changing world, a multicultural structure has emerged with the age of communication. Although communication, knowing the world, universal values are important, it is possible for the individual to say “this is me” by only adopting the values of the society in which they live and having a national identity. At this point, one of the most important tools is children's literature products. In this study, it is aimed to examine the educational messages in children's books that appeal to the 11-15 age range in which the child shows a significant development and change. The case study of the qualitative research designs was used in the study. The books of Mavisel Yener, Cahit Zarifoğlu, Cemil Kavukçu and Behiç Ak whose books are on the list of best sellers in today's Turkish children's literature, have been examined in terms of educational messages. 273 messages detected are classified as "ethical messages", "psychological messages", "sociological messages", "economic messages", "religious messages", "informational messages" and "other messages". As a result of the research, it was determined that sociological messages were mostly included, followed by informational, other, psychological, ethical, religious and economic messages, respectively.
