EXAMINATION OF CLASSROOM TEACHERS’ ATTITUDES TOWARDS EDUCATIONAL GAMES ACCORDING TO SOME VARIABLES

The game; It is an important tool used in the conduct of education and training processes, since it is based on teaching by doing, and especially on the basis of volunteering in children. Planned and programmed game activities are defined as educational games. Considering the developmental processes of children, it is known that educational games are beneficial both in their physical and mental development. One of the applications that can be used effectively by teachers in the planning of learning and teaching processes is educational games. The objective of this study is to determine the attitudes of classroom teachers towards educational games. Classroom teachers working in Kirsehir participated in the research on a voluntary basis. Screening method was used in this study. “Personal Information Form" and " Attitude Scale towards Educational Games" were used in the data collection process in the research. 0.05 significance level was taken in the test of the research data. The items related to the sub-problem were grouped, and independent t-test and ANOVA techniques were used together with descriptive statistics such as frequency (f), percentage (%), weighted average (X) and standard deviation (SS) in the analysis of the data. The source of significant difference was determined by the Tukey test. The eta-square (η2) correlation coefficient has been used in order to calculate the effect size of the significant difference in ANOVA results. The results of the study indicate that the attitudes of classroom teachers towards educational games are generally positive. However, it was concluded that the gender, the location of the school and the educational status did not make a significant difference on the attitudes of classroom teachers towards educational games, but that the years of service made a significant difference on the attitudes of classroom teachers towards educational games.
