THE LEVELS OF ANXIETY TOWARDS TEACHING PROFESSION OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS WHO GET OCCUPATIONAL MUSIC EDUCATION

This research was prepared to examine the anxiety levels of undergraduate students receiving professional music education towards the teaching profession. This study, using the scanning model, was carried out with undergraduate students who received professional music education at İnönü University in the 2018/2019 academic year. In order to collect data in the study, “Anxiety Scale for Teaching Profession” and personal information form were used. In these forms, there are a total of 56 questions, 11 for personal information and 45 for measuring professional anxiety levels. SPSS 25 statistical package program was used for the analysis of the data obtained, and after controlling the assumptions, analyzes such as T Test, Kruskal Wallis Analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used for independent samples. According to the research results; It has been observed that there is no difference between the variables of gender, place of birth, number of siblings, parental education level, parental occupation type, main instrument, type of high school graduated, monthly income and occupational anxiety levels of undergraduate students receiving professional music education. When the occupational anxiety levels were examined according to the age variable categories, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the average scores of the students aged 21-23 and the students aged 27 and over. When the occupational anxiety levels were examined according to the faculty of education variable, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the Conservatory and the Faculty of Fine Arts. It has been observed that this difference is in favor of the students studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts, that is, these students have less anxiety about the profession. It is seen that conservatory students are more anxious than other faculties.
