This study aimed to examine the perceptions of optimism and pessimism in sports from the perspective of competitive athletes. This research study group in 2024 Aegean in the region struggle 141 women and 139 men doing sports total 280 licensed Athletes Data constitutes to participants via Google Form delivered And in research volunteering basis A total of 298 participants were included . reached and over 18 years of age low 18 survey form to evaluate not taken . The first part of the research personal information form , second in the section Optimism and Pessimism Scale in Sports developed by Tekkurşun Demir (2023) was created . In this study, the data analysis was carried out with SPSS 25.0 package program. The normality test of the data was evaluated by looking at the kurtosis skewness coefficients and it was seen that the kurtosis skewness values of the data were between ±2 and parametric tests were used in the analysis ( George & Mallery , 2003). In terms of statistics, anova analysis was performed for more than two variables and Independent Sample T tests were performed for binary variables. The analysis was performed according to the 95% confidence interval. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the participants' optimism and pessimism levels and the variables of gender, age, and national athlete status (p>0.05), while no statistically significant difference was detected in the participants' optimism and pessimism levels and the variables of sports branch and sports history (p>0.05). As a result of the research, it was determined that the participants' optimism scores were high, their pessimism scores were low , and they received a medium level score in the total scale score.
